Yesterday Mam-Maw had, what we hope to be, the last shot in her mouth...ever!!
As Pa says, "they dug out the trailer hitches in her mouth".
That is his way of saying that they uncovered the implants and placed healing caps on them so the gums will heal without re-covering the implants.
When she gets her bottom denture, it will "snap" into place on the implants to create stability.
According to Mam-Maw...it looks a lot worse than it actually is.
She did really good during the procedure and had very minimal pain/soreness afterwards.
One thing I have learned throughout this process...
my Mam-Maw is one tough cookie!!
